No other city decks the halls like Nuremberg, which hosts one of the world's largest Christmas markets in December.
These are the top destinations in the United States and the rest of the globe to visit in December. December is one of the busiest travel months of the year. For the holidays, many fly home or to far-off places. Others are kicking off the ski season early.
And wanderlust-filled workaholics are making the most of their free time to squeeze in one last trip before the year ends.
No other city decks the halls like Nuremberg, which hosts one of the world's largest Christmas markets in December. One of Germany's oldest Christmas markets, held annually at the Hauptmarkt since the 1500s, is located in this little Bavarian town.
There isn't much else that needs to be said here. The largest chocolate festival in Germany takes place in early December in the old part of Tübingen, an ancient university city 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) south of Stuttgart. More than 100 of the world's best chocolatiers gather to sell their wares and offer workshops and demonstrations of chocolate-making techniques.
But even if you miss that occasion, you can still take in all the festive spirit of the chocolate festival in December. Eat the famous bratwurst and gingerbread of the city, look for vintage wooden toys and knit caps, and gather a few ornaments for your Christmas tree. A lovely carousel for children is also available (and the young at heart).
The weather in Baja Sur in December is nearly perfect, with warm days and cool evenings. December is an excellent time to visit our lovely peninsula. December provides many opportunities and activities, ranging from warm ocean swimming and land adventures to up-close encounters with wildlife such as whale sharks and humpback whales.
The rainy season in Baja, California, occurs in August and September. The driest months are April and May, with scorching temperatures from July to October. When winter arrives, the temperatures "cool down" to a comfortable 68 degrees, with water temperatures ranging from 72 to 75 degrees. Because of the mild temperatures, you can stay outside longer and enjoy the sunshine, making the winter months more enjoyable.
Some of Mexico's most opulent resorts, The Pacific Ocean's most transparent waters, and the Baja California Peninsula's southernmost point are home to some of the nation's most stunning beauty. Cabo San Lucas and. San Jose del Cabo are resort cities where most of the state's beach hotels and upscale lodgings dominate the area in terms of tourism.
The south bank of the peninsula, where both cities are situated, is known for its magnificent winter weather. There are fewer tourists in December than in the high spring season, and there will be few rainy, warm days. And since whales are migrating southward in search of more generous portions of the Pacific, this is a beautiful time of year for whale watching. The location is exceedingly private and is part of the Villa La Estancia resort.
Paris is an excellent time to visit in December. Paris is magical over the holidays. Reserve a room at a grand dame "palace" hotel. Shop at some of the cutest shops you can imagine. After a long day, revitalize yourself with champagne tea. Or perhaps a hot chocolate or coffee in a trendy cafe.
The City of Lights will be exceptionally bright after dark over the holiday season, so take advantage of it. The Roman Catholic cathedral known as Notre Dame, situated on the eastern side of the Ile de la Cité, is one of Paris' most enduring emblems. It is considered one of France and Europe's best examples of French Gothic architecture. This cathedral, which started in 1163 and finished in 1345, is stunning, with numerous sculptures and gargoyles that embellish the roof.
First, take a tour of the cathedral before entering and ascending the 387 steps to the summit of the towers. Although the ascent to the top of the structures can be strenuous, A panoramic view of the surroundings and a close-up look at the famous gargoyles will be your reward.
The forty islands that make up the Chiloe (pronounced "Chi-lo-ay") archipelago stretching southern Chile's coastline are fantastic to visit in December. The regional capital is Puerto Montt, which serves as a gateway to Chile's Lake District on the mainland. Isla Grande de Chiloe, commonly referred to as Chiloe, is the largest island in the group.
Seafood is in great abundance there, particularly shellfish. The Islotes de Punihuil, a trio of islets in the Pacific Ocean, is home to Magellanic and Humboldt penguins.
The two penguins can only breed together in this area. There are 110 native bird species on these islands, including pelicans, cormorants, kelp gulls, and more. Chiloe's capital, Castro, is well-known for its vibrant palafitos, which are conventional" wooden stilt homes. The wooden churches there resemble boats on their side. Make your home base at the four-star Hotel Parque Quilquico.
Chiloe has a diverse landscape, ranging from dense forest to coastal cliffs to wetlands. Many of these habitats are under protection by national or privately owned parks. Chiloe National Park on the Pacific Coast is the most well-known, with spectacular examples of the island's temperate rainforests, excellent hiking trails, and breathtaking ocean views. Parque Tantauco, located at the far end of the main island, is ideal for coastal hiking and watching migrating whales.
The Big Island of Hawaii is comparable to the occasionally clumsy older sister. Families may have fun on Maui. Surfers, partygoers, and outdoor adventurers all go to Oahu. For elegance and romance, go to Kauai. The Big Island is simply massive.
Due to its unusual geography, the Big Island is home to various landscapes, including steamy and lush rainforests, hardened lava deserts, and beaches with black sand and snow-capped peaks. And it keeps expanding. The active, fire-breathing Kilauea volcano, the Big Island's trump card, has been developing the island's landmass since 1983.
The volcanic activity resulted in eruptions, earthquakes, and the collapse of the Halemaumau crater during the most recent outbreak in May 2018. It is true that if you came here expecting a typical Hawaiian vacation filled with luaus and a honeymoon-like ambiance, you most likely fell short. But these state parks and hiking paths offer scenery that no other Hawaiian island can match. You probably have yet ever to see colors like those on the beaches.
